Start in your terminal
Reverbo translates the prompts you type in your terminal and shows them on the status line. What you already do becomes reading practice.
What you need first
- Node 20 or newer
- Claude Code v2.1.196 or newer — anything older keeps the status line empty
- One key to translate with. Reverbo uses OpenAI, and
reverbo configasks you for the key
Three lines and you're done
npm i -g reverboInstalls Reverbo. Once is enough.
reverbo configAsks for your key (which never shows on screen), lets you pick how the line looks, and hooks Reverbo into Claude Code. Open Claude Code again and the status line is there.
reverbo loginDo this one too if you want things kept. Translation works the same either way.
An empty status line is fine
The status line Claude Code used to show — folder, branch, model — gives way to Reverbo. It translates the way you picked at setup: pick English → Korean, and what you type in English shows up in Korean. If you already wrote in the language it translates into, or there was nothing to translate, the line stays blank.
Run reverbo status to see where things stand. Change how the line looks with reverbo config. To take Reverbo off, run reverbo uninstall — that removes only what was hooked in and leaves your other settings alone.
What leaves your machine
The README on npm spells out what gets kept and what never leaves.
Everything kept is on this page — read it or delete it.
